The City of Jasper hosts the annual CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK at Sandy Creek Park on Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend in November.

Each year, Sandy Creek Park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with numerous lighted Christmas displays throughout the park, with musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights, and a dazzling fireworks display to bring in the Christmas season for all to enjoy. Families can visit with Santa at Santa’s Hut, ride on Santa’s Choo-Choo Train from the Depot in the Park, have pictures taken with Photo Boards, enjoy Arts and Crafts, Community Singers and live entertainment. Guests enter a Christmas wonderland of lights, while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees along the creek banks of the park.

Free to the public, Christmas in the Park is a non-profit event, funded largely by local Hotel / Motel tax, designated for the promotion of tourism. Area businesses and individuals have also contributed to the variety of lighted Christmas displays that glimmer off the water’s reflection in the park.

The City of Jasper works closely with the Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce, and with a volunteer Board of Directors in providing the direction, creation, and implementation of this extraordinary family event. It also takes countless volunteers along with support from the business community to bring this annual holiday tradition to life in November. For more information about CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK call City of Jasper at (409) 384-4651 or email Denise Kelley, Christmas in the Park Coordinator.  For a vendor application for this event click here: 2017 CITP Vendor App.docx.
